KALASHA AWARDS – KENYA’S FIRST FILM AND TV AWARDS. PART ONE

It has been long since I updated on the subject. The first time I wrote about it was herehttp://my.blacktree.tv/profiles/blogs/destiny-unfulfilledSeveral things happened since then. As one of the organizers, I was privileged to be right in the centre of things. Here is a brief account purely from my point of view. The biggest challenge that hit the process was when the title sponsor backed out of the project just two months prior to the awards. Talk about a spanner in the engine…See More

KALASHA AWARDS – KENYA’S FIRST FILM AND TV AWARDS. PART THREE

Around the first week of March I left my employer to work as a freelancer. Unfortunately, my employer at the time was also the Kalasha Secretariat. Leaving them meant leaving Kalasha. It was sad.

As a young filmmaker, it was an honor to be part of the start of a project that will hopefully inject new energy into the Kenyan Film and TV industries. Moving on was difficult and every once in a while, I would call up friends at the Kenya Film Commission and the Secretariat to check on… Continue

KALASHA AWARDS – KENYA’S FIRST FILM AND TV AWARDS. PART TWO

The initial deadline for submission to the awards had been set for December 22 2008. Unfortunately, filmmaker and producers were skeptical and first and were slow to submit. A lot more convincing needed to be done and the deadline was consequently extended by about three weeks.

DESTINY UNFULFILLED

It has been a while since I updated my blog. The past one month has been a roller coaster of madness. So many things have changed and happened in these thirty or so last days that I am not sure, which side is up or which is down.

The last time I wrote, my company was preparing to shoot our third film. We were finalizing with locations, finishing the script and meeting with our cast members. Well, despite the meticulous planning that the producers were doing and the painstaking… Continue

PREPARING FOR SHOOT

My company is getting ready to shoot our third film next week. Its all excitement at the office. The movie is a low-budget, straight-to-DVD family movie revolving around a young, married couple and some of the things that they go through together. The original story was written by a young uni student and I edited it and wrote the screenplay. It wasn't an easy task. It needed a lot of work to flesh out the story, develop the characters and re-write the dialogue.

The hard part of my… Continue

What's up! On this cold morning. Temperature here is right at 30 degrees. It's snowing in the mountains here. The way it looks it maynot be long for more cold weather. Peace!

Hello Rhesa! from my understanding are you asking for others imput, or are you just relating your production expertise, like just sharing. Or are you looking for advice to help you make things happen? Peace!
